lessons from $6400 email campaign

Last week I ran a campaign for my Words4Money class, and was able to produce $6400 in profit from email + my facebook page.

I'm going to breakdown the lessons learned so you can apply it to your business, and/or email list.

Lesson 1: You got to test angles.

Here's what I mean.

Let's use my last offer as an example which was a class on starting a copywriting business.

  • break away from your 9 to 5 with an email copywriting business
  • work from anywhere in the world while making five figures per month writing
  • learn how businesses are secretly shelling out millions for people willing to write words in a Google document.

All the same offer. Just different angles. I could come up with 20 more.

AND, you have to test them ALL.

Find which one works, and then hammer it over, and over.

I've taken campaigns producing ZERO, and turned them around into thousands of dollars in revenue--Just by testing multiple angles.

Don't guess. TEST!

Lesson 2: Always have upsells

The type of upsells that will get picked up by your customers are the ones that helps them get results from main offer better/faster/with more ease.

For instance if you have an email offer then you may know most people don't like writing.

So you may have an upsell that gives them templates to copy and paste their offer into or you may take it a step further and have an AI prompt that completely writes the email for them.

That's an EASY upsell to a class on email writing for businesses.

Without my upsells last week I would've did a 3rd of the $6400 (like $2100) I walked away with.

Lesson 3: Although it's email and you're broadcasting to an entire list doesn't mean stop doing the manual work.

Meaning (this is especially important if you have a smaller email list) don't be afraid to reach out to any leads that clicked on yoru sales page link multiple times.

Sometimes it's a simple question they need answered to become a customer.

Reaching out with a simple subject line: "I saw that"

And the body copy saying something like: "I saw you click on the link to my class, but you didn't join let me know why and I'll help you get clarity on whatever's holding you back. If you were just being a nosey marketer that's cool as well. Ignore me lol"

That simple.

I do that even with THOUSANDS of leads on my list, but in an automated way.

During November, the email agency side of my business does RECORD numbers, and there's no mistake as to why. Black Friday. Not because I make Black Friday deals as I rarely do, but because so many companies wait until November to FINALLY email their list. At this point, their audience hasn't heard from them for most of the year. Their deliverability is trash, so most of the promo is going to spam So they're damn near desperate to get PROFESSIONAL help as they know the type of returns they can...

Sophomore year of college, I got dumped. Her name was Ashley. We'd been together for 8 months. She called me on a Tuesday night and hit me with the classic: "Freddy, it's not you... It's me. I just need to work on myself right now." I believed her. Felt bad for her, even. Two weeks later, I see her downtown making out with some dude who she previously called 'her friend'... Turns out... it WAS me. 😅 Not her. She was just too nice to tell me the truth. When your email list isn't converting,...

I was looking to grow my agency faster, so I took a class that taught me a new method. But it wasn’t just about some script or AI software. What I learned was this: If you can find your ideal client's undeniable sore spot—the one thing they know is broken—you’ll never struggle to close clients again. For my ideal client, that easy-to-identify sore spot was email deliverability. I’d find big brands sitting in the spam/promo folder and send them screenshots with a message like: "This is...
